Welcome!

This is our 27th Public Auction and it is a very large sale. We are thrilled to present several exceptional properties. The Robert J. Wynstra Gold Medal exhibit of Leeward Islands Village Mail is a superb assemblage of rare and wonderful postal history and cancellations with many unique items. The International Gold Medal Collection of Br. Commonwealth Postage Dues formed by David L. Herendeen is replete with interesting and rare items highlighted by the Barbados 1¢ inverted center, one of just two examples known. The marvelous collection of QEII Commonwealth errors formed by the late Robert F. Winter is comprehensive in scope and depth. It features a very strong GB section but will also be found sprinkled throughout the General Commonwealth section so look for your favorite countries!

Thomas J. McMahon’s Bermuda is presented and fans of this country should find much of interest. The Prof. Charles L. Tipton Collection of Malta contains an array of specialized material and is certain to provide much of interest for collectors of this popular country. The Newfoundland section includes many varieties assembled according to the Walsh listing. Major rarities include the Queensland QV ½d double impression, the discovery copy mint, Bangkok “B” with triple overprint, the Fiji KGV War Tax pair, one without overprint, the New Hebrides KEVII strip of 4, one without overprint and much, much more.

We have just received the new book by Robert P. Odenweller The Postage Stamps of New Zealand 1855-1873 The Chalon Head Issues. What an amazing work! This is a MUST for your library. Price is $125 postpaid in the US.

The London 2010 Exhibition is fast approaching. We will be at Stand 67 and invite you to stop and say hello and see some of the exciting new material we will have for sale there! We are interested in purchasing collections and individual rarities before the Exhibition and we are also accepting consignments to be offered there. What have you for sale?

Reminder: We do accept bids by email (preferable to fax) and always acknowledge receipt immediately. Include references if you are not already known to us. We can arrange telephone bidding for those who cannot attend in person and would appreciate knowing your requirement well in advance of the sale.

We hired new and very competent help in July which has made it possible for us to produce a catalogue of this size. We would like to say a special thanks to the new members of our team!

Now on with the sale!

Cordially,
