EXTRAORDINARY GREAT BRITAIN CANCELLATION COLLECTION Many 100s of stamps and covers selected for quality and clarity of cancel meticulously laid out and arranged on quadrille pages in a Scott album. QV through 1950s issues but the true “meat” of the collection is in the Victorian (1867/1900) and KEVII period. Primarily various types of town or numeral cancels centrally struck on the stamp making the town name and date or numeral easily discernible and with some additional unusual cancels including various triangles, slogans (in later issues), foreign offices, mail boat, etc. plus few dozen covers and postal stationery also selected not only for cancel quality but often an attractive, interesting or unusual use as well. The stamps themselves range from the more common low value definitives to Victorian 1883-84 2/6 - 10/ and KEVII to the 1902/11 5/. Any kind of listing of the contents would not do true justice to the collection but a few notables include 1870 ½d rose (30) with assorted plate nos. including pair on mourning cover, 1880-81 1/ salmon (2 including Jersey squared circle), 1883-84 4d single franking cover to Veracruz, 6d (6 including A91 mail boat), 1883-84 2/6 (6), 5/ (5), 10/, extensive 1887-1900 section with ½d wrapper to Tasmania, KEVII 1902/11 2/6 (2), 5/ (2), 1d+½d wrapper to Germany, 1916 FPO 149 on postcard with “Disabled Service” seal, KGV various Exhibition cancels, 1913 A.I.F.
